Practicum Journey (SMKDK)

Monday, 19th June 2023      Today is Monday! So, for my teaching lessons today, I decided to do a reading activity with my 1 Bestari students based on the text 'Practise 3Rs'. I chose that topic because I want to educate youngsters about the value of incorporating the 3 R's into daily life. Then, I decided to hold a spelling bee for my 2 Fikrah students utilizing the previous material that we had covered in class. I gave students some time to read before jumping right into the spelling bee. It was a fun and beneficial activity since it allowed me to get to know about my students' spelling levels.     Besides that, my school conducted a short formal assembly from 5.50 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. before the end of the school day. The assembly included patriotic singing, speeches from the currently on-duty teacher and the previous on-duty teacher, a speech from GPK Kanan, and a book review session.      Regarding my relief class, I am only required to relief 2...

Monday, 12th June 2023     Hi, it's Monday! So, I got some not-so-bad news, but it made me upset. My weekend was interrupted by a message from the teacher who was in charge of the class schedule, informing me that I needed to switch from 2 Dinamik to 2 Fikrah. This happened due to a clash of schedules with another class that I teach, therefore I was assigned to teach 2 Fikrah for the best possible solution. As a result, my class schedule had been automatically altered to a new one.      Today, I will teach 2 Fikrah from 4.25 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. and 1 Bestari from 5.00 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. Since this is my first time attending 2 Fikrah, I thought it would be a good idea to do a little ice-breaking activity. Thankfully, the class was well-mannered and my instructions were easily understood. Monday, 5th June 2023      Hello! Today is a public holiday for 'Hari Keputeraan Agung' 👑 Tuesday, 6th June 2023      Hello! Back to school, everyone! So, after a week off, I'm ready to get back to teaching. Nothing exciting today, however, I did get to talk with some of the teachers about their holiday. It's wonderful to work in a positive environment. Everyone has been really supportive and kind to me.  A selfie won't hurt right 🤳😄      As usual, I'm teaching 1 Bestari class today, and I've decided to assign a true or false exercise based on the text that has been provided. I have previously photocopied the short text for each student.  I also asked that some of the students read the provided text as well as participate in a discussion regarding the text.
