Monday, 22nd May 2023

Here we are in my second week of practicum! Today is the day that I need to teach 2 Dinamik. Since the examination just finished, my mentor had previously assigned me to mark the English papers that I teach, which are 1 Bestari and 2 Dinamik. So, on my first day in 2 Dinamik, I just conducted some ice-breaking with the students. For me, knowing and recalling the names of my students is essential and crucial.

As for my relief classes, I got two relief classes which are 1 Fikrah from 1.10 p.m. until 1.45 p.m. and 2 Arif from 1.45 p.m. until 2.20 p.m.

Tuesday, 23rd May 2023

Here to my second day of the week, thus I had to attend Mesyuarat Guru Bil 2/2023 Bahagian 2 at 12 p.m. So, the meeting is essentially a continuation of the previous meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity, and I feel like a real teacher already 😁

Today is the day when I have to teach 1 Bestari! I'm excited but also nervous ☝ Therefore, I only did some reading comprehension activity from Pulse Textbook and conducted an ice-breaking session including introducing myself in the 1 Bestari class. During class, students are really pleasant and helpful. I am very thankful to have such well-mannered students.

As for my relief classes, I got three relief classes which are 1 Intelek from 1.10 p.m. until 1.45 p.m., Peralihan Bestari from 1.45 p.m. until 2.20 p.m., and 2 Dinamik from 3.30 p.m. until 4.05 p.m.

Wednesday, 24th May 2023

As for the classroom teaching, I have only discussed the examination paper for 1 Bestari and 2 Dinamik, as I have already graded the examinations. The scores of both classes are satisfactory since they are in the middle level of proficiency. It gives me the confidence to help them improve their English language skills. However, all classes maintain a polite manner during class and cooperate effectively with any instructions from me.

The good news today is that I have no relief classes 😊

Thursday, 25th May 2023

We've reached Thursday, the fourth day of the week, and I just had one lesson today at 2 Dinamik. So I decided to do some reading about cultural awareness (from the Pulse Textbook). The reading is about a quick guide to secondhand shopping, and students can select between charity shops, car boot sales, or swap shops. In this activity, students are already provided with questions to answer based on the reading. I provided some explanations and guided the students in answering the questions appropriately.

Despite this, today's good news is that my school prepared "Nasi Hujan Panas with Ayam Masak Merah" for all teachers as lunch. I'm not sure what event occurred till I was given this lunch, but all the teachers called me to take it at the office. It was incredibly tasty but slightly spicy. After all, I'm glad for the food because I didn't prepare my lunch box today.

As for my relief classes, I got two relief classes which are 2 Efisien from 1.10 p.m. until 1.45 p.m., and 1 Arif/Bestari/Cemerlang from 3.50 p.m. until 4.25 p.m. In case you were wondering, the combined class was a music class. There are several classes that require students to mix.

Finally, it's Friday, the last day of the week. Today, the school celebrated Teacher's Day as well as Hari Raya. So, every class serves a potluck, and every student is allowed to don their 'Baju Raya' as well as their teachers. Aside from that, there will be a competition for the best-dressed teachers. Students will vote for the best teacher in a variety of categories, including sporting teacher, angriest teacher, funniest teacher, and a few more. The day was exceptionally enjoyable and lovely since I was able to visit each class and take pictures with them as memories. Oh, despite that, the teachers also had a potluck in the teacher's room, and I am really enjoying this day with a great deal of affection.
