Week 11 (24 July 2023 - 28 July 2023)

 Monday, 24th July 2023

    It's Monday! So, I received information that the fellow practicum teachers were involved in KPM's "Penarafan Tandas bertaraf 5 Bintang." We had been assigned to assist the other teachers in rating the condition of the school's restroom. I was assigned to update the school maps, which included the names of all the restrooms. It was an amazing opportunity and a brand new lesson for me.

    So, for 1 Bestari today, I focused on reading and writing skills, and I provided homework for students to rearrange sentences to form a short paragraph. While for 2 Fikrah, I gave each pupil a word search focusing on adverbs.  

    Good news for today, I have no relief classes 😊

    It's Tuesday! So, as usual, it will be my day of relaxation, as well as the day when I try to finish my weekly lesson plans! However, at 12.30 p.m., I attended an in-house meeting with the English panel at Bilik Gerakan about the CEFR (Balloon English). The meeting was excellent since it featured a new way of teaching developed by KPM, particularly the usage of 'Balloon English' by Teacher Hema (one of the morning session English teachers).

    Regarding my relief classes, I have three: 2 Efisien/ 2 Fikrah from 2.55 p.m. to 4.05 p.m., 1 Fikrah from 5.00 p.m. to 5.35 p.m. and 1 Dinamik from 5.35 p.m. to 6.10 p.m.

Wednesday, 26th July 2023

    It's the co-curricular day! As for today, I came as early as 10.00 a.m. to instruct skipping sport and unit uniform 'Pandu Puteri'. In terms of the skipping sport, I had just done some warm-ups and handed out skipping rods while guiding them on how to skip. Despite that, I had instructed the students to continue marching from their previous marching for 'Pandu Puteri'. Everything was going just as planned. 

    For my teaching lesson, I chose to play 'Hot Seat Games' with my 2 Fikrah. I'd want to engage students in interactive learning so they don't become bored easily. During the activity, the students were excited and enthusiastic. I had actually prepared a slideshow of random images for the game and reserved the 'Bilik Media' for today's session.

    Regarding my relief class, I am only required to relief 1 Gemilang from 2.20 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Thursday, 27th July 2023

    It's Thursday! So I had to be present at Bijak BI at 12 p.m. Sir Nimalen taught the lesson today, and more students showed up than in the previous lesson. After that, at around 3.30 p.m., Miss Farhan Ahlaamie, my university supervisor, made a social visit to my school before the evaluation. It was a wonderful visit, and I felt so welcomed when my own supervisor took the time to spare me a visit to school.

   In terms of my teaching classes, I just conducted some information transfer activity for 2 Fikrah in order to make them aware of and familiar with this kind of activity, which would help them in their upcoming examination. For 1 Bestari, I just conducted a simple activity that involved doing crossword puzzles, this time it was a vocabulary version. They thoroughly loved the crossword puzzles and worked hard to complete them during class. 

    Regarding my relief class, I am only required to relief 2 Fikrah from 1.10 p.m. to 1.45 p.m.

    It's finally Friday! Can't wait for the weekend! So, for my 1 Bestari students today, I prepared a 'simple past tense' exercise. The students were required to complete the paragraph using the correct 'simple past tense' form. I did this on purpose to improve their understanding on the use of  'simple past tense'.

    Regarding my relief class, I have one: 2 Arif/ 2 Bestari from 6.10 p.m. to 6.45 p.m.
