Week 9 (10 July 2023 - 14 July 2023)

 Monday, 10th July 2023

    It's Monday again! So, for today, I performed some fun activities with my 1 Bestari children that emphasized listening skills. I introduced the students to the song 'Everything at Once by Lenka,' and I gave them a worksheet in which they had to complete the words of the song while listening to it. Furthermore, this song was utilized as the theme music for 'Bulan Bahasa,' and it was a brilliant song since it included a lot of idioms in the lyrics. 

    Despite that, my school had its usual formal assembly on Monday before the end of the school day. So, I was assigned to train certain students in reciting poems (Bulan Bahasa), which was a good chance because I'd always wanted people to recite my own poems. In that regard, I utilized my own poetry for my students to present at formal assembly.

    Regarding my relief class, I am only required to relief 2 Gemilang/ 2 Harmoni from 1.45 p.m. to 2.20 p.m.

Tuesday, 11th July 2023

    It's my free day! So, no noteworthy event occurred today. I'll just follow the relief classes as required, and everything went smoothly throughout the day.

    Regarding my relief classes, I have two: 1 Bestari/ 2 Arif from 2.20 p.m. to 2.55 p.m. and 1 Harmoni from 2.55 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Wednesday, 12th July 2023

    It's Wednesday! Wednesday is a day for curricular activities! So I arrived at 11 a.m. to handle unit uniform 'Pandu Puteri'. My unit uniform performed marching for the students during co-curricular activities. The goal of the training was to familiarize students with 'Pandu Puteri' marching.

    In terms of my teaching class, I had previously done a similar exercise with 1 Bestari and 2 Fikrah students, in which I introduced them to the song 'Everything at Once' by Lenka. I chose to perform this task in order to help my students become fluent in the song.

    Regarding my relief classes, I have two: 1 Harmoni from 2.20 p.m. to 2.55 p.m. and 2 Arif/ 2 Bestari from 2.55 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Thursday, 13th July 2023

    It's Thursday! As of today, English evening teachers were required to attend Bijak BI class at 12 p.m. Sadly, only 15 to 20 students showed up for the hour-long session that was supposed to have 60 students. Despite that, the class ran nicely.

    For 2 Fikrah, I chose to focus on the grammar of time expression: 'will'/ 'when' + 'will'. I also gave the students brief notes and a short task to assess their understanding. For 1 Bestari, I conducted the word search because it was one of the competitions in 'Bulan Bahasa'. The quickest finisher of the word search will receive prizes from the English panel. It was a great day for me!

    Regarding my relief class, I am only required to relief Peralihan Arif from 3.30 p.m. to 4.05 p.m.

Friday, 14th July 2023

    Finally, it's Friday! Today, I arrived earlier than usual, at 12.30 p.m. It was due to the fact that I needed to attend 'Mesyuarat Panitia Bahasa Inggeris Kali Ke-2 2023'. The purpose of this meeting was to deliver the committee report and to discuss any concerns with the English subject. Attending this meeting offered me a great chance to learn.

   Then, for 1 Bestari, I chose to focus on grammar past simple modals: could/couldn't. I also provided some brief notes and a simple task to assess their understanding. My students were really cooperative and energized during the lesson, for which I am quite appreciative.

    Regarding my relief class, I am only required to relief 1 Cemerlang from 6.10 p.m. to 6.45 p.m.
